The shank is cylindrical (the shank diameter corresponds to the drill diameter). It is used with drill stands and drill drivers. The ground HSS twist drill drills into metal with the highest precision. The self-centering drill bit with split point and a point angle of 135 degrees enables perfect centering without wandering. The split point eliminates the need for punching or pre-drilling for diameters up to 10 mm. This precision-ground HSS steel drill bit drills 40% faster and requires 50% less contact force than conventionally ground HSS drill bits. It is suitable for drilling holes in alloyed and unalloyed steel, cast steel, cast iron, sintered iron, malleable cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and hard plastics. The ground HSS twist drill is manufactured according to DIN 338. It is drill type N (small rake angle) with a 135-degree drill tip and a diameter tolerance of h8.
