The DB Bahnbau Group is responsible for the planning, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure facilities, particularly railway infrastructure. The company owns its own locomotives to haul the trains. For the heaviest tasks, a yellow "Ludmilla" – locomotive number 233 493 – with the characteristic name "Tiger" is available. This locomotive, of Soviet origin, was fitted with a new 2,206 kW Kolomna diesel engine during its rebuild in 2002/03. Since 2014, she has been working for the track construction team.
