Stel een vraag om meer te weten te komen over het productThe HMS Beagle was a brig of the British Royal Navy. The Beagle was built by the Woolwich shipyard on the Thames at a cost of just under 8,000 pounds. She was launched on May 11, 1820.
In 1825, she was converted into a survey ship and took part in three expeditions. Her mission was to survey previously poorly charted coastlines. Charles Darwin was also on board for the second expedition, under the command of Captain Robert Fritz Roy. On this voyage, Darwin gained the insights from which he later developed his theory of evolution.
The kit is fully equipped with all fittings, a dinghy, and a sewn-in sail set. The keel and frames are laser-cut with millimeter precision. The batten material is of the highest quality. Detailed construction plans and instructions with numerous illustrations assist with assembly.
