To efficiently charge the batteries of the PRO and COMPACT cordless systems, use the STIHL AL 300 rapid charger. With a nominal voltage of 220-240 volts and a charging current of 6.5 A, the 1.2 kg charger charges your batteries particularly quickly. A device on the base of the housing is used to attach the rapid charger to the wall. An LED display shows the charge level, and the device also features active battery cooling to protect the battery during charging.
The batteries of the COMPACT and PRO cordless systems are quickly recharged with new energy using the STIHL AL 300 rapid charger, eliminating the need for long breaks during work. The AP 100 battery requires 50 minutes to fully charge, the AP 200 is fully ready for use again after 55 minutes in the STIHL AL 300, and the AP 300 battery after 75 minutes. However, you don't necessarily have to fully charge an empty battery. The last 20 percent of the charge level takes about one-third of the charging time. This is because the charging current decreases continuously towards the end to protect the cells of the lithium-ion batteries. Therefore, for an 80 percent charge, you only need about two-thirds of the specified charging time.
The STIHL AL 300 rapid charger charges the batteries very gently and ensures that the cells' longevity is maintained. You can start the charging process even without completely discharging the battery. Because modern lithium-ion batteries do not have a so-called "memory effect," it is also possible to remove the battery without it being fully charged. Using a rapid charger does not damage the battery. The STIHL AL 300 quick charger and STIHL batteries are optimally matched and monitored by the battery management system to ensure that excessive charging currents or temperatures cannot damage the battery cells.
