The vehicle battery charger is an 11-step car battery charger suitable for charging and maintenance charging 6 volt or 12 volt lead-acid batteries (batteries) with liquid electrolyte (WET), maintenance-free lead-acid batteries (MF), gel electrolyte (GEL), or electrolyte-absorbing mats (AGM).
Select the desired charging voltage (6 volt or 12 volt), and the microprocessor-controlled charger handles everything fully automatically until the charging cycle is completed and the batteries are fully maintained.
The German-language display is easy to understand and convenient to use.
Thanks to the test function, battery charge levels can be determined before charging, and the integrated memory function continues the charging process even after power interruptions, without having to start over.
Six charging programs are available. The fully automatic battery charging takes place in 11 charging steps.
Modern safety technology with reverse polarity protection, overheating protection, overload protection, and short-circuit protection protects you and the device from incorrect operation.
Suitable for continuous charging
Test function/battery tester
For 12-volt batteries, the battery tester works without a power connection. Simply connect the terminal clamps, and the LCD display shows the battery voltage. For 6-volt batteries, a power connection is required.
Memory function
The microprocessor in the charger has a memory function. If the 230-volt supply is interrupted during charging, the device saves the previously selected charging program.
When the mains power is reconnected, the device restarts automatically and continues charging in the last selected program.
6 Programs
PROGRAM 1: 6 Volts (7.2 Volts/1A)
Suitable for 6-V batteries with a capacity between 1.2 Ah and 14 Ah under normal conditions. Charging program for WET, MF batteries, and most GEL batteries.
PROGRAM 2: 6 Volts (7.4 Volts/1A)
Suitable for 6-V batteries with a capacity between 1.2 Ah and 14 Ah under cold conditions (from 10°C and colder). This charging program is also designed for many AGM batteries.
PROGRAM 3: 12 Volt (14.4 Volt/1A)
Suitable for 12V batteries with a capacity between 1.2 Ah and 14 Ah under normal conditions. Charging program for wet, medium-temperature batteries, and most gel batteries.
PROGRAM 4: 12 Volt (14.7 Volt/1A)
Suitable for 12V batteries with a capacity between 1.2 Ah and 14 Ah under cold conditions (from 10°C and colder). This charging program is also designed for many AGM batteries.
PROGRAM 5: 12 Volt (14.4 Volt/4A)
Suitable for 12V batteries with a capacity between 14 Ah and 120 Ah in normal condition. Charging program for wet, MF batteries, and most GEL batteries.
PROGRAM 6: 12 Volt (14.7 Volt/4A)
Suitable for 12V batteries with a capacity between 14 Ah and 120 Ah in cold condition (from 10°C and colder). This charging program is also designed for many AGM batteries.
11 Charging Steps
Step 1 – MEASUREMENT
After correct connection, the LCD display provides an initial indication of the charge level and condition of the battery.
Step 2 – INITIALIZATION AND BREAKING SULFATION
Checks the condition of the battery to determine the charging process.
Step 3 – SOFT START
Starts the charging process at ½ value at a preselected 4A current.
This slowly preheats the battery to enable a full charge.
Steps 4–7 – Constant Current Charging
Delivers 85% of the battery's capacity by charging with 4 different currents to fully charge the battery.
Step 8 – Constant Voltage Charging
Brings the charge level to 95% at maximum charging voltage by gradually reducing the current, which limits battery gassing and thus extends the battery's lifespan.
Step 9 – Float Charging
Ends the charging process and brings the battery to maximum capacity at float charging voltage.
Step 10 – Analysis/Regenation
The charging current is switched off and a test is carried out to determine whether the battery can maintain the voltage. If the voltage drops too much, regeneration mode is activated to restore lost capacity.
Step 11 – MAINTENANCE
Monitors the battery condition. If the battery voltage drops below a certain value, the last selected charging program is restarted. This maintains the charge level of the battery in the most gentle way possible and without overcharging.
