The gas is released by incomplete combustion, for example, from gas furnaces, stoves, and boilers. Homes are becoming increasingly better insulated. However, this also prevents carbon monoxide from escaping the house. This increases the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning even further. You can take timely action by installing a CO detector that warns you when carbon monoxide levels become too high.

The Smartwares RM386 CO detector has a loud and clear 85 dB alarm that sounds when the permissible CO concentration is exceeded. The detector can be used in rooms with an area of ​​20 m² to 40 m². The sensor has a 10-year lifespan and comes with a 3-year battery. When the battery power is low, a short beep sounds to indicate that the battery needs replacing.

Installation

The carbon monoxide detector can be installed with just a few screws. For proper operation, the detector must be installed at least 1-3 m away from combustion devices. In other rooms (e.g. bedroom or living room) the CO detector should be installed at breathing height.

Maintenance

The functionality of the CO detector can be reduced by dust and dirt. It is therefore important to wipe the smoke detector once a month with a slightly damp cloth and vacuum it twice a year. Do not use any cleaning products and do not paint the detector. The detector should also be checked regularly using the test button. The detector should be checked for correct function once a day.
