The Viking ship Oseberg was found in Norway, near Oseberg in Vestfold in 1903. The ship rested on a "bed" of blue clay and was covered with turf and a large number of stones. Oseberg was built in the second half of the 9th century and buried about 50 years later. The ship is about 50-100 years older than other known finds. It sat quite flat in the water and must have been a relatively dangerous ship when under sail.
This kit is based on a classic frame construction method. All wooden parts are precisely laser-cut. A 1:1 blueprint, assembly instructions, and all wood, plastic, and fittings required for assembly are included.
