Protect bees and promote beneficial insects. Insects are a central component of our ecosystem. Many beneficial species regulate pest populations and pollinate plants, allowing seeds and fruit to develop. Not only honeybees, but also our native wild bee species play an important role in this. For example, approximately 600 female horned mason bees can be enough to pollinate one hectare of fruit trees. Unfortunately, the insect population has declined dramatically. According to the Red List, over half of wild bees are experiencing population declines, are threatened, or are already extinct. This can have dramatic effects on biodiversity and food production.
