This tester has a connection for a 7-pin plug on one side and a connection for a 7-pin socket on the other. To test a 13-pin plug or socket, you will need the included adapters. The tester will quickly show you whether there is a fault in your vehicle or whether the trailer wiring is incorrect. If an LED is not lit, then this connection is defective and you can replace the bulb. If this is not the fault either, then the wiring of this connection is the problem. You can also test each individual function of your vehicle by turning on your ignition and using the left turn signal, the right turn signal, applying your brakes, turning on the tail light, or the rear fog light.
