Walnut maggots/rot on walnut fruits:
The cherry maggot trap can also be used to catch the
adult walnut fruit fly. This prevents maggot infestation of walnuts. To do this, attach traps to the tree from the end of June.
Beneficial insects:
In addition to cherry flies, beneficial insects also occasionally fall into the trap. As has been shown from many experiments, beneficial insects are only found very rarely on the traps, so the overall population of beneficial insects is not endangered. To minimize the likelihood of catching beneficial insects, the traps should be removed during the harvest.
